Refuse, or trash trailers, can haul an extensive variety of garbage, scrap and debris. They are frequently used in commercial, municipal and construction industries. We feature some of the biggest names in new refuse trailers for sale and used trash trailers for sale.Â
What Are Trash or Refuse Trailers?
Designed to be easily unloaded at landfills or refuse centers, refuse trailers can feature either external post walls or smooth walls, and they come in an extensive variety of sizes. Most, however, tend to be box trailers between 40 and 53 feet long. Some may have open tops and open backs for easy loading and unloading as well as ladders where the load can be observed from above.
How Are Refuse Trailers Unloaded?
It’s important for a trash or refuse trailer to be easy to unload when transferring material to a landfill or refuse center. There are several different methods for unloading, which include:
Moving floors
Live floor and walking floor trailers use slats that can slide, essentially moving the payload out of the back.
Tippers
These use a hydraulic trailer tipper to raise the trailers in the air to unload them.
PushoutÂ
These depend upon a hydraulic ram cylinder that moves the payload out of the back opening.Â
